Talking As Fast As I Can - Lauren Graham

4.7/5

If you’ve ever wondered whether Lauren Graham is really just Lorelai Gilmore in another form — the answer is, absolutely yes. Her quick wit, pop culture references, and warm charm spill right off the page, making Talking As Fast As I Can feel like catching up with an old friend over coffee at Luke’s.

What surprised me most is how much of Lauren’s real-life humor feels like the show. Maybe it’s the era she grew up in, maybe it’s just her natural rhythm, but it gave me such happy heart vibes — even if some of the references are a little outside my time frame.

I especially loved her diary entries and behind-the-scenes stories from Gilmore Girls. Reading about how close the cast really was made me smile (and also reminded me — despite all the teasers floating around TikTok — Gilmore Girls is done).

Lauren is more of a hustler than I realized. Before her big breaks, she worked more non-acting jobs than I ever would have guessed — everything from wearing a dog costume to waiting tables — and she’s had far more acting roles than I knew about.

Still, she will always be Lorelai to me. She’s one of those actors who’s so intertwined with her most famous character that it’s hard to picture her outside of it — like, she goes on dates and it’s not with Luke? 😮

A cozy, funny, and surprisingly inspiring read for any Gilmore Girls fan.
